After Lambeth killed off the much loved, free firework display that took place around Bonfire Night every year, plans have been submitted for a private company to take over the running of the event.
The proposed display is for Saturday 4th November this year, with admission fees set at £6.50 for adults, £3 for children with kids under 3 getting in free. The display will last just 20 minutes.
This is slightly cheaper than what Lambeth charged during their back-firing experiment to introduce charges to the traditionally free event, although late buyers can expect to fork out a hefty £10.
Hoping to run the show will be event management company Westworth Kemp, who are based in Richmond, London.

Labour Councillor for Herne Hill and “Cabinet Member for Healthier & Stronger Communities LB Lambeth” Jim Dickson posted details of the application on Twitter (below), and invited interested parties to send their views on the proposal to events@lambeth.gov.uk.

The 2017 theme, A Night at the Movies, will see the epic 20 minute display feature quotes and soundtracks from a host of cult classic blockbuster movies.
The event opens at 5pm with Live Music, Funfair rides, plenty of great food and drink and one of London’s best fireworks displays taking place at 8pm.
