This Sunday 6th April the critically acclaimed American/Jamaican reggae outfit Morgan Heritage touch down at Electric Brixton as part of their current European Tour and we have one pair of tickets to give away!
Morgan Heritage (named so because they are the five children of reggae artist Denroy Morgan) formed in 1994 and have had a string of successful albums over the past two decades.
Originally from the United States the band made their first appearance at Reggae Sunsplash Jamaica in 1994, they were subsequently signed to MCA who released their debut album ‘Miracles’ in the same year.
Following the release they moved to their father Denroy’s homeland of Jamaica, and once there set about working with famed reggae producers Bobby Dixon and Lloyd James resulting in the release of their critically acclaimed second album ‘Protect us Jah’ (1997).
They went onto release three compilation albums by ‘The Morgan Heritage Family and Friends’, and a live album ‘Live in Europe’, recorded during their 2000 tour.
Following the release of their 2001 album ‘More Teachings…’ Morgan Heritage toured Europe again, and have returned several times since.
Their sixth studio album ‘Three in One’ was released in 2003 , their seventh studio album ‘Full Circle’ in 2005, followed by ‘Mission in Progress’ in april 2008 which features the singles ‘Faithful’ and ‘Raid Rootz Dance’.
After several years of working on solo projects, they reformed to release the single ‘The Return’ in 2012 which indicated that a new album would be recorded after their 2012 European Tour. The album ‘Here Comes The Kings’ was released by VP Records in June 2013.
